Vine of the Dead

by Jim Findlay

Clear selection

Vine of the Dead explores the place and meaning of ritual in the 21st century by attempting to communicate across the divide between life and death. The piece is foremost a live performance event in which Obie and Bessie Award-winning director, designer, and performer Jim Findlay and interactive “maker”/hacker and designer Ryan Holsopple use technology to conjure alternate realms of perception and consciousness. The performance channels personal experiences of death and transcendence while exploring the spirituality of skepticism. A complementary visual art installation follows each performance presenting “ghost traces” of the live events as a gallery presentation.
