Allotment 1898

by JJ Lind

Clear selection

Allotment 1898 is a multi-part work increasingly globally dominant Western concepts of private property and land ownership. The work includes four components that are being developed independently for shared installation in 2017. In 2016, JJ will be working on:

  • The Allotment, an immersive video/sound installation and short film by Lind and filmmaker Gabrielle Demeestere; and
  • Grandmother Spider and Her Pots, an onsite sculptural installation of Cherokee head pots created by citizens of Lind’s hometown of Vinita, Oklahoma.

These works will be presented in the fall of 2016 through IM’s new partnership with the Invisible Dog, funded by the New York State Council of the Arts.
